Anton Burger

At the age of 15, Anton won first prize at the Laren Jazz Festival with the group ‘Jazzeker’, in which he played drums, and set up his first big band, for which he also wrote the music, four years later.

In the early eighties he was a member of George Kaatee’s ‘New Orleans Syncopators’.
Between 2001 and 2006, he toured Europe with the ‘Glenn Miller Orchestra’, led by Wil Salden.

Throughout his career, Anton has played as a freelance musician with a number of orchestras, ranging from the Radio Filharmonisch to the Carré Theater Circus orchestra, and playing anything from English waltz to bebop.

He has also been the band leader and arranger for the musical ‘Larry’, and co-arranger for ‘Joe’, a Van den Ende production.
In 2003, Anton’s big band, the ‘Big Burger Special’ recorded a live CD of his own compositions.

Keen on having a hobby that has nothing to do with music, Anton plays trombone in his spare time.
